First Of All:
HAPPY NEW YEAR DARLINGS!
Last we spoke, I updated you all on my hair...the braids! (September 2013)
Need a reminder on the look?
So, I wanted a new look but I also wanted to give my hair a break for a while...I took the braids out in December and I've made the decision to go natural: taking the steps to embrace the natural texture of my hair and instead of doing the big "chop," I'm deciding to just transition and grow my perm out.
Here are some recent pics of me and my hair after the braids.

I'm not fully transitioned yet, of course! This isn't going to be an easy/quick process.
So far, it's been about 6 months since I've had a perm.
I know a lot of people see this "natural" thing as being a new fad. Well, my personal reason for deciding to go natural is that even though I take really good care of my hair - my hair has been this same length for over a year now. I'm thinking that maybe all of the chemicals we use with perms are possibly stunting the growth of my hair...therefore, I want to try this natural journey and see what comes of it. Also, I'm going to be taking Biotin Vitamins, which specifically help with the growth of your hair.
Exciting! Nerve wrecking though because I don't even know if I even HAVE a curl pattern! LOL...I've always had a perm for as long as I can remember so I think I tricked myself into thinking that I have naturally straight hair...lol. Who knows, I think everyone is supposed to have some sort of natural curl pattern.
I guess we'll see, now won't we?! :)
